Tea, coffee, and pastries to kick off the day
Introduction to Frontier
An inspirational and lighthearted talk on user experience that emphasises the crucial role of design in building the new everyday things.
Ruth will take us through what it takes to become a Street VJ. Creating visuals with HTML/CSS; 2D & 3D Canvas and animation APIs; analysing and sound with the audio and MIDI APIs.
Ruth's presentation will be interactive and show off the portability the web brings to the world of Street VJing!

John decided to combine his fascination for adventure and exploration with his love of good design, typography and photography to create Sidetracked.
Sidetracked was featured in Apple's WDC 2015 presentation for iOS9 (so be sure to check it out on iPad).
Ben will be talking about (and doing) live coding across hundreds of devices. In his own words: It'll be fun!

We're hoping to have these amazing traders from KERB join us on the day! Including vegan tacos, Indian dosa, American subs, and delicious BBQ meat.
With solidified syntax and great browser support, flexbox, the CSS layout module that can make your layouts more flexible and responsive with ease, is finally ready to be used in your real-world work.
We’ll talk about the when, what, and how of using flexbox today: when it’s a great choice use flexbox (and when not to), what UI and UX problems it can help you solve, and how to add it to your layouts in a robust way that doesn’t harm non-supporting browsers or accessibility.
You’ll learn a step-by-step process for deciding on and deploying flexbox, with lots of examples along the way of flexbox in the wild.
Ross will talk about the practical side of delivering user experience. How do you get designers and developers to work towards a user experience strategy in a growing business? And ultimately, how do you get the business to think about users first? Ross will share the tools and methods of educating in-house teams and a few hacks to speed things up!

Front-end design and development truly is a frontier in 2016: it's massive! The range of technologies, of human factors, device sizes, connection speeds, user locations we have to consider is growing all the time.
We wanted to curate a conference that delivered expert speakers from across the full spectrum of front-end; across what we like to call our 'Tenets of Front-End'. In no particular order, they are:
Every Frontier conference will always source experts and deliver content from across these Tenets, as well as high-quality food (this year it's authenic London street food), great coffee, free wifi, and all the usual perks (read: after party).
Join us, celebrate everything Front-End, be inspired, then go and make beautiful things.
